The digital era has a huge affect on human development. What does this mean for Montessori education in the 21st century and how can we adapt to all these new developments? How can we prepare our children in a way that they are ready for the future, from both a social-emotional and a cognitive perspective? In this workshop and lecture we will work together on the the new skills of a montessori teacher. We focus on the aspect of self-regulation.

Jacqueline Hendriksen, M.Ed. is a montessori teacher trainer. She has been working in Montessori schools and with students for 25 years. She is director of AVE.IK, a company in Montessori training in the Netherlands. The main field of her work is guidance of Montessori schools; training of students and Montessori directors all over the world and providing lectures and courses.
Jacqueline has written several interesting books: The story of the child, The story of the misunderstood child and And nów: Montessori!
The day starts with a 60 minutes lecture about Modern Montessori lecture and is followed by an interactive workshop of 1,5 hr. intervision and practical activity. You will work on one big history to tell to the children and you have material to start with it next day!
Note: to prepare for this day we ask you to take an example of a work from a child from your own group!
We are also going to work, have practical moments, talk and create new ideas for your classroom!

10.00 – 12.00: Interactive lecture: From help me to do it myself to let me do it myself: self – regulation as a way to independence.
Brain based education.
The 4th stair: the importance of feedback.
Montessori minutes: effective way of using montessori material.
Observation: How to go around and supervising the work.
12.00 – 13.00: Lunch
13.00 – 15.00: Practical workshop: 10 steps into the world of a modern Montessori teacher.
